Mark your calendars for the third annual Hamster Run, coming July 25-27.

Garden City Moustache Ride

May 12th, 2008

One of the northwest’s best rallies is coming up this weekend, and the weather is actually looking promising for once!  It’s not too late to plan on going if you haven’t yet, nor is it too late to start working on your moustache, so get on it!  Contact ToddQ or Dorcie if you’re interested in joining a group riding over on Friday.

Club Membership Changes

March 28th, 2008

The club leadership recently met to review the club membership guidelines, and decided it was time to make a few changes to maintain consistency with the direction the club has taken since they were drafted.  The overall effect is that they’ve been simplified and relaxed, making the club more open.  The new membership page can be viewed here for the time being until a more permanent link is established on this site.

March Meeting

March 17th, 2008

We’ll be meeting at the Harborside Bistro at the Bellwether Hotel for breakfast this month as we continue our search for a new meeting location.  Breakfast buffet will be offered for $6.50.

Meeting Location Change

January 20th, 2008

Our next Saturday meeting (1/26/08) we’ll be gathering at a new location, Sorelo’s, in the Fairhaven Cruise Terminal.  10am as usual, ride might be dependent on snow, but you should at least bundle up and ride to the meeting.

End of summer news update

September 17th, 2007

Things have been a little quiet here lately, but here’s what’s coming up. We’re finally rolling out a new mailing list to help keep people updated on club news and events. If you’ve been getting emails from the club or were a Yahoo Groups member, you should have gotten an email notifying you that you’ve been signed up. If not, visit the Discussion List page for info in signing up.

We’ve been talking about doing some club events in the near future, such as and end of summer bbq, and some sort of tech seminar (or even series) on doing some basic maintenance on a Vespa. Stay tuned for more details, or chime in on the new mailing list if you’ve got more ideas. We’d also like to start delegating the planning and leading of rides amongst more members, it’s a good experience, so don’t be surprised if you get tapped on the shoulder over the next couple of months and asked to help out.

There will be at least one more mid-week evening ride this summer before it gets too dark and wet, Wednesday, Septemper 19. We’ll leave from Boundary Bay as usual, 5:30pm, and try to gas up before hand.

Hamster Run II

July 30th, 2007

Thanks to everyone who turned out to ride with us and made our second rally another success!  We had a great time this weekend and hope you did too.  We had around 70 scoots riding on Saturday afternoon, Bellingham had never seen anything quite like it before.  Those of you with digital pictures from the weekend (everyone but Jeff), head on over to scoot.net and upload them for everyone to enjoy (we’re still working on someplace to put Poloroids up).  Mark your calendars now for next year, it’s only going to get better as we figure this thing out.

March Meeting Location

March 27th, 2007

Our meeting location for this month - we’ll be trying out “Our House Deli” - 2301 James Street, two blocks south of Alabama Street, same time 10am and ride to follow.

Reminder; It’s dues collection time, please bring $20.00 cash or check made out to “Scooters of Bellingham” to the meeting and Dorcie and or Tom will collect. The dues help seed our Rally costs, and if you don’t have one already you’ll get a cool club patch and sticker for your scoot.

The ride will be the Samish, Bow Hill, back up Chuckanut loop.
