Things have been a little quiet here lately, but here’s what’s coming up. We’re finally rolling out a new mailing list to help keep people updated on club news and events. If you’ve been getting emails from the club or were a Yahoo Groups member, you should have gotten an email notifying you that you’ve been signed up. If not, visit the Discussion List page for info in signing up.
We’ve been talking about doing some club events in the near future, such as and end of summer bbq, and some sort of tech seminar (or even series) on doing some basic maintenance on a Vespa. Stay tuned for more details, or chime in on the new mailing list if you’ve got more ideas. We’d also like to start delegating the planning and leading of rides amongst more members, it’s a good experience, so don’t be surprised if you get tapped on the shoulder over the next couple of months and asked to help out.
There will be at least one more mid-week evening ride this summer before it gets too dark and wet, Wednesday, Septemper 19. We’ll leave from Boundary Bay as usual, 5:30pm, and try to gas up before hand.

The second annual ride around Camano island, organized by The Unaffiliated Scooterists Club.
Run Route: Leave Starbucks/QFC at 2PM. Then head on Hwy 532 to Camano Island. Veer right onto North Camano Drive (at Terry’s Corner). Turn right onto Sunset Drive and putt through Madrona. Turn right onto West Camano Drive, follow signs to Camano Island State Park, turning right on Lowell Point Road. At the stop sign in the park, turn left, proceeding to the south beach’s boat ramp. (Group and Individual Photo Op’s). Once we get our fill of the state park, then we’ll exit, turning right onto Mountain View. Proceed down the steep hill to Elder Bay. Turn right onto South Camano Drive. Continue south… the road eventually finds the tip of Camano and you’ll find yourself proceeding north (now East Camano Drive). We’ll have a quick stop in at Tyee Grocery (if the art galley is open, we’ll wander inside, too). On the road again, we’ll wander north to The Camano Plaza (just north of Camaloch Golf course) – if you need fuel, this is a good stop, too. Then we’ll proceed to Sunrise Drive, turning left at the second signal. We’ll conclude our ride at Terry’s Corner. There are several businesses at Terry’s Corner, including Alfy’s Pizza, Brundles, and Camano Island Coffee Roasters.
