The Scooter Cannonball Run 2008 is going on right now, and it is probably the coolest scooter event in the country. Inspired by the classic 1981 movie, 28 riders are racing scooters cross country on Highway 50 from San Francisco to Ocean City Maryland. They are riding over 3000 miles in 10 days. Two of the (only three) riders on manual transmission bikes are our neighbors Roy and Rocket from the Vancouver area. Join us for some great rides and outstanding wine. This years rally will coincide with the Columbia Valley Wine Association Catch the Crush wine tasting event. Our main Saturday ride will take us to Prosser on the back roads and we will visit some of their outstanding wineries. The rest of the weekend will be fun-filled too with lots of beer, friends, and laughs.

The Scooter Cannonball Run is a coast to coast endurance event for scooters up to 252cc. It is a test of both rider and machine that covers over 3000 miles and takes in some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. It will be run as a time/distance/regularity rally where points are awarded based on miles completed and the ability to maintain the standard pace.
For 2008 the scooter cannonball will travel highway 50 (the loneliest road in america) from San Francisco California to Rehoboth Beach Delaware.

Camano Island, WA
The Unaffiliated Scooterists Club
Similar route as last year around Camano Island, WA.
Starting in Stanwood at 2PM on Sunday afternoon, then on various roads that go around Camano Island, with stops at local art studio, Camano Island State Park (including photo opportunity), quaint store for coffee/ice cream, ending at a local restaraunt for dinner.
There is no charge for this event. Camping immediately prior to the event is available at the Camano Island State park.
